Model Ziricote Tenor Custom Hummingbird
Also specially commissioned, luthier Michael DaSilva built this beautiful Ziricote custom tenor with a hummingbird inlay that Mike designed and inlaid himself. Ziricote (scientific name: Cordia dodecandra) is an exotic hardwood from Mexico and the Yucatán Peninsula. The timber has a similar appearance to Brazilian Rosewood and is heavier than most Rosewoods. When worked, it is said to be comparable to Ebony. Tone of Ziricote is like Rosewood and it has low dampening qualities with a clean resonant quality, in other words – nice mellow and deep complex tone with clear highs (trebles).
All models can be custom built to your specifications and are completely handcrafted by Mike DaSilva.
