UKULELE MOVEMENT's February jam had a record turnout! 30 people gathered in our home-studio for a night of fun, music and magic (magic – courtesy of Alan Soo who travelled all the way from Malaysia and fascinated us with his solo performance of "While my guitar gently weeps", and "Let's Dance" by Jake Shimabukuro).
There were also two guitar players—Kelvin and Ian T—who did a fantastic job of on-the-fly improvisation for a couple of the tunes. No doubt, this group has grown by leaps and bounds in terms of numbers and skill. Most-improved player was Vivian Lim, who only bought a uke from us last month during our January jam, and now a month later, not only were her fingers flying all over the fretboard without looking, she even did a vocal solo of "Bubbly" by Colbie Caillat ! Kudos to her!
We also had a birthday girl, YY, who chose to spend her birthday with us. YY, we hope you had a memorable birthday.
Thank you all for your participation, for making your way to the jam in the rainy weather, and for strumming till your heart's content.
We seriously doubt we can accommodate more than 30 people comfortably in our home-studio if the numbers for the next jam should increase, so tell us what you think about "UKULELE MOVEMENT::DESTINATION::An outdoor venue" (An outdoor venue could be Botanic Gardens, or Vivo's rooftop garden, or the beach etc...please feel free to suggest venues). I think the ukulele is most suited to being taken outdoors don't you think? In order to post your comments, please register in the forum page.
Here are some pictures from the last session. Enjoy!
