UKULELE MOVEMENT

One rainy Saturday afternoon, some customers got stuck while shopping at UKULELE MOVEMENT because of a heavy storm outside. Some might call it unlucky but not if you happened to be stuck in a store with Shigeto Takahashi! 

Shigeto Takahashi is a fantastic ukulele player from Japan and a YouTube sensation. He's played at various ukulele festivals all over the world and he's well received in the ukulele community. Shigeto decided to pay UKULELE MOVEMENT a visit during his work trip to Singapore.

With nowhere else to go, guests made themselves comfortable on the rug while Shigeto was so kind as to give us a mini performance, playing songs from his CD album "Roots Trip". He dazzled us with his strumming and tapping techniques on songs like 12th Street Rag and The Peanut Vendor, and played classics like Hilo March and Aloha 'Oe.

After the performance, Shigeto even had a sharing session to teach us techniques like triplet strum which looked simple but really hard to follow, even when he did it slow-mo at -24 frames/sec. Shigeto stayed on till the rain had subsided then he had to take his leave as he had a plane to catch.
