Model James Hill Custom Koi Tenor

Specially commissioned by a customer in Singapore, luthier Michael DaSilva built this exquisite James Hill custom tenor out of Adirondack Spruce and Curly Koa with koi inlay. The James Hill model is unique on its own with an innovative bevelled cutaway never seen on another uke before. This bevel allows for maximum internal volume unlike traditional cutaways which takes away some of the volume in the body. Strategically positioned koi and lily pads inlay adds beauty and acts as position markers on the fretboard.  

All models can be custom built to your specifications and are completely handcrafted by Mike DaSilva.

• Custom abalone and mother-of-pearl koi and lily pads inlay on headplate and fretboard

• Gaboon Ebony fretboard and heelcap

• Paua abalone and tortoise shell rosette

• Black and white ivoroid purfling

• Rosewood bridge   

• Corian nut and saddle

• UV-cured, hand-rubbed polyester finish

• 19 nickel silver frets 

• Koi inlay position marks at 5^th, 7^th, 10^th , 12^th, 15^th and 19^th fret on neck and fingerboard

• Pegheads 4:1 built-in geared tuners

• Custom DaSilva strings

• Label is individually signed by Mike DaSilva and serial numbered

• Price includes a high quality molded fibreglass case
