The aNueNue 1879K is a replica of an original ukulele made by master craftsman Nunes in the late 19th century.
This wonderful uke is made from full solid Hawaiian Koa. Even the fretboard, nut and saddle are made from Koa wood. The shape is also smaller than a modern soprano but the tone and volume coming from it is simply amazing. Pegheads USA are used on this uke to keep the look traditional but don't let these pegheads fool you, they have internal gearing to ensure tuning is easy and precise.
This uke is available in very limited quantity and comes with it's own custom built hardcase.
These highly sought-after Kala Solid Acacia models are now back in stock at UM.
Koa wood belongs to the same family of the Acacia tree. The qualities of Acacia wood are similar to Koa wood, but more eco-friendly as Koa is being depleted in recent years. If you want a sweet-sounding, well-balanced ukulele and not willing to pay the price of a Hawaiian made full solid Koa uke, then look no further, Acacia is the obvious choice.
Do bear in mind that, like Koa, Acacia wood takes a long time to "break-in" or mature. To season an Acacia uke quickly, all you have to do is to play it more. It would take roughly 3–6 months for the uke to fully break-in and mature, after that it would sound amazing. I would know, I own two of these myself! – Simon, co-founder of UM

Watch UKULELE MOVEMENT on AXN's Sony Style TV Magazine this coming Tuesday! On this programme, Glyn will teach Oli Pettigrew how to play the chords to Jason Mraz's I'm Yours in just 20 minutes (it helped that Oli played the guitar many years ago). First airing of Sony Style TV Magazine (Season 4, Episode 15) starts on Tuesday 3 August at 8:30pm with repeats of the programme daily at various time slots during the week.
